During the long-term documentation of alcohol ink systems, archived observations have consistently shown that working solutions prepared from different alcohol inks and a colorless liquid do not necessarily exhibit the same material behavior.

Even under the same or similar observation conditions, different working solutions may behave very differently on the substrate. Some continue to develop through an extended sequence of observable material behavior, while others exhibit only limited development. In some archived observations, material development remains minimal throughout the observation period.
