Preserved Boundary Positions
Liquid edges leave visible marks as they move. As liquid advances into new areas, subtle boundary deposits stay behind where the edge previously rested, recording successive stages of movement rather than just a final line.

Variations in Deposit Appearance
Boundary marks do not look identical across recorded events. Observed patterns include:
- Line width: Marks vary from thin, clear lines to broad, darker deposition zones.
- Continuity: Deposits appear either as unbroken, continuous borders or as fragmented, interrupted marks.

Progressive Boundary Development
Edge deposits develop over time rather than forming instantly. As fresh liquid moves, newly formed edges add fresh deposit zones, while existing marks may be partially altered by later liquid pass-throughs.

Retained Patterns After Drying
When liquid movement stops and drying completes, portions of these boundary deposits remain permanently visible on the surface, preserving historical movement traces of the liquid.
